Daily Pill Can Prevent HIV

Daily Pill Can Prevent HIV

2018

A pill is available for people who are at very high risk for getting HIV from sex or needle drug use. The pill is called PrEP (Preexposure prophylaxis) and many people who can benefit from it aren’t taking it.

Healthcare providers who can prescribe medication can prescribe PrEP for you. You can find more information about getting PrEP at https://www.pleaseprepme.org/connecticut and at Positive Prevention CT. The Center for Disease Control also has more information about PrEP.
